Overview
I contributed to the redesign of Whirlpool’s 6th Sense Live App, which allows users to remotely control and monitor their connected appliances. The project aimed to enhance usability, align the visual identity with Whirlpool’s global design standards, and introduce new functionalities for connected products.
The redesign was developed between October 2021 and March 2022, when the updated app was successfully released in app stores.
My Role
UX/UI & Interaction Designer (Consultant at Reply)
Defined UX flows, created wireframes and prototypes in Figma.
Facilitated weekly workshops with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Supported the UI Designer in creating new components and structuring the Design System.
Collaborated with IT and development teams to validate specifications and ensure timely delivery.
The Challenge
Improve usability and user experience while keeping the app aligned with Whirlpool’s brand identity (NAR style guidelines).
Integrate new connected features while maintaining visual and functional consistency.
Coordinate across multiple stakeholders (design, IT, product, development) to respect strict timelines and guarantee release to market.
The Process
Knowledge Transfer
Engaged with IT leads to acquire technical documentation on product functionalities.
Defined project timeline based on product prioritization with PMs and analysts.
Analyzed the live app in production, mapping its information architecture and conducting a competitor analysis.



Flows & Specifications
Organized project documentation in Figma, designing user flows and specifications.
Created both low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes for validation.
Conducted weekly workshops with Whirlpool’s global UX leads, IT team, UI designers, and development teams.

Design System & UI Support
Supported the UI Designer by creating and refining interface components.
Structured the Design System for scalability and consistency across the app.

The Solution & Impact
Delivered a modern, more navigable redesign of the 6th Sense 2.0 app, enabling quicker access to connected appliance functions.
Internal usability testing and stakeholder feedback highlighted increased clarity in navigation flows and a stronger alignment with Whirlpool’s global design system (NAR).
Launched on time (March 2022), supporting a seamless global rollout across EMEA markets.
Strengthened cross-functional collaboration and established a reusable design process for future iterations.
Elevated team confidence in UI consistency and scalability, laying the groundwork for ongoing app evolution.
